The MercedesTrophy in Vietnam was developed by Management Consultant Mark Khan as an exclusive international invitation tournament series for Mercedes-Benz customers and potential customers who are golf enthusiasts. Every year more than 60,000 golfers in over 60 countries tee off for over a quarter of a century MercedesTrophy has been providing amateur golfers worldwide with exciting, top-class golfing – an experience money can’t buy but reserved for Mercedes customers!
The MercedesTrophy currently has a three-stage tournament structure for Vietnamese customers. There are more than 30 tournaments at the local level where players can qualify for the Country Finals. From the Country Finals seven winners then advance on to The Asian Final which is held annually in Australia. The climax is the World Final, which is traditionally held in Stuttgart Germany.
Dr. Jens Thiemer Vice President of Marketing Communications Mercedes-Benz Cars commented recently on what makes the MercedesTrophy World Final so special?
“ More than twenty years ago we decided that the MercedesTrophy World Final would be held in Stuttgart, the home of our brand. This is where we can give the participants “full Mercedes exposure” and exciting insights into our brand, its products and, not least, the philosophy of our company. The World Final has never been only about the tournament itself; it has always been important to us to bring people with similar interests together from all over the world. Over the years this has given rise to the Team Spirit Award, for example, in which the participants themselves vote for the team they admire most, or the Welcome Evening. The presentation of the teams in their respective national costumes right at the beginning of the event is an unforgettable and very pleasing experience.-.
This year Vietnam’s Nguyen Truong Giang will join team members from Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Sri Lanka to make up a powerful Asian Team.
We wish them best of luck at the 26th World Finals in Stuttgart Germany.
